Delvin Barnes is a proud Black entrepreneur with big ideas and a growing business. Based in Houston, TX, Delvin launched Kidd’s Playground, a fashion brand that designs and sells anime-themed T-shirts and apparel online.

His brand is more than just a creative outlet—it’s an act of ownership, identity, and ambition. Coming from a low-to-moderate-income background, Delvin is building Kidd’s Playground with limited resources, but an abundance of determination.

Kidd’s Playground blends anime fandom with fashion-forward streetwear. It's a brand that speaks to a generation of creators, gamers, and anime lovers who want to wear what they love—and express themselves boldly through design.

Despite being in the early stages, Delvin already has a few paying customers and a clear vision for his next steps. He’s ready to turn his hustle into something bigger—and thanks to Sky’s the Limit, he’s got the boost he needs.

Delvin is using his grant funding to invest in marketing, boost inventory, and expand Kidd’s Playground’s reach online. But more importantly, he’s gaining traction, confidence, and community through Sky’s the Limit.

About the Friends and Family Fund Grant

Sky’s the Limit created the Friends and Family Fund to provide seed capital to young entrepreneurs who often don’t have access to traditional funding. With just a compelling pitch and community support, members can win up to $2,500 each month to move their businesses forward.

To date, we’ve awarded over $500,000 in grants to help underestimated founders build something of their own—and Delvin is the latest to join the growing list of changemakers and creators.
