Cathy Terrell is the founder of Mama T Jams and Jellies, a Houston-based, small-batch jam company inspired by family tradition and bold, unexpected flavors. What began as gifts from her kitchen has evolved into a business that brings joy to every table, serving food lovers, local restaurants, and retailers seeking something authentic and elevated.
Rooted in memories and driven by mission, Cathy’s jams, jellies, and cocktail syrups do more than flavor a meal—they create connection, tell stories, and honor a legacy. Her goal? To nourish not just the body, but the spirit, by turning everyday moments into extraordinary ones.
What’s Next for Mama T Jams?
With her $2,500 Friends and Family Fund Grant, Cathy is gearing up for expansion. She plans to scale her production to meet demand, invest in marketing to reach new customers, and expand her community cooking workshops—especially those supporting teenage mothers and aspiring young chefs.
Thanks to mentorship from marketing expert Ericka Nicholes and professionals at Bank of America, Cathy now has a clear 6-month strategy and new networks helping her take Mama T Jams beyond Houston and toward national growth.
